What do we mean by the term “biblical womanhood?” In some circles, it evokes a June Cleaver picture in our minds. Or, the Proverbs 31 woman. Our understanding of biblical womanhood must be influenced by the narratives of women in the Bible, not just a man-made picture conjured up by patriarchal cultures. The biblical narratives about women that are far more expansive than what these cultures generally acknowledge. The Bible praises and values women who contribute in other ways besides bearing children. It recognizes and validates women whose spheres of influence are beyond the home. In this message, I have highlighted the narratives of several women in the Bible.
